From the Press Release
The organizers of the World of Gamedev Knowledge conference are happy to announce first speakers that will visit Gdansk, Poland, between the 6th and 7th of September this year, to share their knowledge, experience and unique insight on the Polish game development scene with visitors attending the event.

Piotr Iwanicki – the creative director and as he likes to call himself ‘a seasoned team leader’ with a portfolio that pushes the experimental boundaries of puzzle games in titles such as Rektagon and Tetravalanche. But most importantly one of the creative minds behind the SUPERHOT game that recently turned out to be a smashing hit on Kickstarter completing its 100,000 USD funding goal in less than 24 hours, gathering over 250,000 USD in total and attracting the interest of Cliff Bleszinski who declared the will of working on the project and designing one of the levels for it.

WGK 2013 was the first time SUPERHOT prototype, as we know it today, was released publicly. After winning the event’s Grand Prix back in September 2013, the dev team’s road to glory started. It wasn’t always easy and bright but it was successful and that’s what Piotr’s talk will be focusing on. Covering topics from creating a great idea, to building awareness, leading successful Kickstarter campaign into attracting business partners attention – Piotr’s thoughts an insight on the SUPERHOT success will be an invaluable source of inside knowledge for not only other indie devs but also big AAA companies.

Sos O. Sosowski – a man of many talents. Creative, spontaneous and an extremely positive figure on the Polish game development scene but most of all an incredible talent responsible for a highly successful indie game McPixel. Sos showed up on the market about 3 years ago instantly getting attention due to his original approach to creating games, followed by his high professional skills. Sos’s talks are always engaging, informative and fun to listen to and this time will be no different. However Sos wouldn’t be himself if he was about to reveal the subject of his speech a month and a half prior to the event. Instead he agreed to allow organizers to give his amazing game – McPixel, completely for FREE to every person that will buy WGK ticket! As to his talk? Bear with us as we’ll be revealing it shortly!

Michal Hrydziuszko and Adrian Perdjon – the owners of the Warsaw motion capture studio simply called mocap.pl Michal as an experienced animator, previously working on such titles as The Witcher 2 and Gears of War, will explain all the tech behind mo-cap and the ways of using footage recorded during sessions. While Adrian as a talented actor and director will cover topics interesting for current and future cut-scenes directors, on how to organize rehearsals with actors and how to effectively work with stuntmen.

However this talk will be interesting not only for the creators of AAA titles as mocap.pl is the first on the market company making motion capture sessions accessible for indie developers and allowing them to bring their games to the whole new level. In fact this is what mocap.pl is focusing on. To deliver high quality motion capture services to independent developers who, until now thought those are behind their reach. How mocap.pl is doing it? Join the team for their talk to find out!
