Classics UK: The Transformers Volume 5 (Comic Book Review)

Classics UK: The Transformers Volume 5 is a new release from IDW Publishing that features plenty of classic comics from The Transformers series. The particular volume includes 18 different stories from The Transformers issues #146-173, and fans will also find The Transformers 1988 Annual as well. The stories pick up with the Autobots battling against the all powerful Unicron in a war that could decide the fate of the universe. The tales in these pages are some of the best The Transformers series ever released, and the collection offers a fantastic way to get into the series for the first time or catch up on forgotten tales for older readers.

Fans of The Transformers will no doubt want to pick up the new release. The classic stories are really interesting, and the collection offers one of the only ways to purchase these aged comics. The book is priced pretty good at $29.99 for the entire collection, and there is some bonus content within the pages including advertisements, cover art and more that helps brings the collection full circle.

The book opens with a foreword from one of the creators of the series before moving into a complete chapter on the history of The Transformers that also helps readers catch up on the storyline so far. Readers will also find character biographies on the characters from the comics including every from Optimus Prime to Unicron. The advertisements section is littered with plenty of neat images captured from the 1980s that longtime fans of the series will love seeing as well.

Classics UK: The Transformers Volume 5 offers a good collections of tales that covers one of the most important battles from the entire Transformers franchise. The book likely won't be very appealing to non-comic fans, but Transformers fans will greatly enjoy reading through the collection. The event featured rides, exhibits, games and great (yet too expensive) food for attendees at the show. Families could have enjoyed a great time at the fair grounds, but the event wasn't cheap and it didn't feature some of the more prominent attractions like one would find at larger, state fairs and carnivals. The turn out very low in Scottsboro though, and many would think that this would make it easier to enjoy the event but not even small lines could help make the Jackson County event fun. The Jackson County Fair had over a dozen rides for all age groups.
