Dragon Con 2014 Interviews: Being Human Press Conference

The Being Human press conference took place on August 29th at 2:30 PM in the Interview Room located in the Marriott Hotel during Dragon Con 2014. The interview featured the cast of Being Human which was Sam Witwer, Sam Huntington, Kristen Hager and Meagan Rath. BioGamer Girl had previously interviewed the cast, but this time around got a chance to talk more in-depth in the press conference about the Season Finale, and the cast's final thoughts on the ending of the show. Read on.

During the interview it was brought up about how fans have come to expect big things from season finales and Being Human was able to meet those high expectations. Sam Huntington discussed what he had wanted for the season finale which was for Nora and Josh to ride off into the sunset and give the characters what they really wanted. In the case of Sam Witwer's character, it was to move on and have an afterlife or some sort of redemption. The cast were very fun and upbeat and joked repeatedly throughout the conference about the show and their selves. Sam Huntington made a wonderful comment about how all Meagan Rath's character Sally wanted in the end was "a man." Sam Witwer went on to state how the entire cast has spent the whole show "beaten up" and that "they deserved a happy ending."

When asked about their process for preparing for the ending of the show, Megan Rath stated that they were told that "they were riding to an end" and "closing it up." The cast said that they officially didn't know the show was ending until a couple of days before it went to the press, and they didn't know about the alternative ending being completed as part of a "just in case" scenario for the fact that the show could end and be rebooted. Originally Syfy wanted to tape two new seasons back to back and close up the series on Season 5. However, some unexpected things happened that were out of Syfy's control and they had to do some things to fix this which quickly depleted the show's budget. In the end, everyone thought it was best to have a really great Season 4 instead of trying to milk it for another season which could turn out horribly under the circumstances. Meagan Rath discussed how the alternate Sallys in the final season was a plan in case the show was cancelled and rebooted which would allow the show to pickup and follow one of the alternate Sallys. Meagan actually states that if you watch the ending of the show very carefully that the "wrong sally" was actually sent back to the present which was very interesting to learn. In the end, the press conference was very entertaining with the cast cutting up among themselves most of the time and showed how down to earth they really all are.
