Newegg Announces Gametober With Events, Deals and Prizes

Newegg, the number one tech-focused e-retailer in North America, today announced the beginning of Gametober. Throughout the month of October, the company will feature a host of ghoulish, gamer-centric events, frighteningly good deals and shocking prizes. This October is one of the video game industry’s busiest months as publishers release a barrage of new titles ahead of the upcoming holiday shopping season. Newegg’s Gametober™ adds to the excitement with giveaways, sponsorships and product exclusives for video game enthusiasts.

“Gamers are a very important part of the Newegg community and Gametober lets Newegg focus on the tremendous number of gaming-related releases this month,” said Soren Mills, Chief Marketing Officer for Newegg North America. “Newegg is sponsoring this year’s StarCraft II World Championship Series, and UC Irvine’s ‘Midnight Finals’ viewing event for the League of Legends Championships. To top it off we will give one lucky winner a complete travel package to BlizzCon.”

 Newegg has planned two gaming-focused events at its Hybrid Center in Los Angeles during Gametober™. The first is on Oct. 10 from 6 – 10 p.m. PDT, showcasing the recent Haswell X99 launch and is sponsored by Gigabyte and Rosewill. Attendees will be able to play games against each other in the ‘Gigabyte X99 Community Tournament’ for prizes—including a chance to win an X99 or Z97 motherboard and PC peripherals. Newegg will also give away 40 tickets to attendees for UC Irvine’s ‘Midnight Finals’ viewing event for the League of Legends Championships.

 On Oct. 25, Newegg will host a second event to celebrate the exclusive launch of Acer’s new gaming notebook. The event will run from 2 – 9 p.m. PDT, and a host of games will be available for attendees to play, including StarCraft II, Hearthstone, Titanfall and League of Legends. At the event, Newegg will provide another winner with two tickets for BlizzCon.

 Newegg’s ‘BlizzCon Blitz Sweepstakes’ offers one grand prize winner a trip for two to BlizzCon 2014, complete with admission tickets and round-trip airfare to Los Angeles. Runner-up prizes include an Xbox One video game console, as well as Rosewill PC cases and keyboards. The BlizzCon Blitz Sweepstakes runs from Sep. 29 until Oct. 10.
