Open Beta Announced For Razer Synapse: Stats & Heatmaps

Razer announces open beta for Razer Synapse: Stats & Heatmaps. Read on.

Razer, a world leader in connected devices and software for gamers, today announced the open beta for Razer Synapse: Stats & Heatmaps, a software feature within Razer Synapse. The new program allows users to collect data to track and share mouse and keyboard stats and how these critical gaming devices interact with their games.

Stats & Heatmaps is accessed through Razer Synapse, the cloud-based settings network for gamers. Razer pioneered the gaming software and gaming peripheral categories, and Razer Synapse: Stats & Heatmaps is the latest example of the company’s integration of the millions of connected devices it has shipped to-date. Available at no charge on an opt-in basis, gamers use the tracked data to analyze mouse clicks, key presses, distance traveled on a mousing surface and more.

The information can then be displayed as raw stats or as an overlay on an in-game screenshot showing “hot spots” to help gamers tweak and improve how they use their Razer gear in game. Those graphics can also be instantly shared to Facebook and Twitter from within the software.

“This is a fun and unique way that we can add value to our industry-leading products after purchase,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. “We’re able to visually show gamers, empirically, how they interact with their favorite games. This information can help with anything from improving hotkey and mini-map usage to mouse mat selection and mouse DPI settings, in addition to the multitude of uses it could have for developers when they design game interfaces. Unfortunately it’s next to impossible to ensure compatibility with the thousands of games out there, so we’re counting on our millions of software users to help us test and expand game compatibility.”

Additional functionality for Razer Stats & Heatmaps, including actions-per-minute, will be released soon. For more information on today’s announcement, including a link to download, visit www.razerzone.com/synapse/stats. Game compatibility is not guaranteed for the open beta. Feedback on Razer Stats & Heatmaps can be submitted through the feedback system in Synapse.
