From the Press Release
Action games were by far the most popular video game genre judging by units sold in 2013, with 31.9% of all computer games falling under the action category. Luckily, MyRealGames, the online gaming website, has a plethora of thrilling action games that are sure to thrill any fans of fast-paced, thrill-a-minute titles – and they’re all totally free! The most popular game categories were as follows:

  • Action with 31.9% of all games sold
  • Shooters with exactly one fifth of all titles
  • Sports games ranked in third with 12.9%
  • Role playing, adventure and family entertainment followed behind

Looking at the statistics revealed by the ESA in their 2014 report, it’s clear that action games are the runaway winners. From car chases and zombie shooters to pirate attacks and flight simulators, MyRealGames has the action games to appeal to any online gamer. The games can be played online in all of the most popular browsers, and some titles can be downloaded for free so they can be played without an internet connection for action on-the-go.

Nikolai Veselov, of MyRealGames, says, “With almost a third of all games sold coming under the ‘action’ umbrella, we’ve responded to public demand with dozens of dynamic and exciting action games to play for free online. We know how important it is to track the trends in gaming, and this one was something of a no-brainer – we all love a fast-paced car chase or a perfectly designed platform game now and then, and MyRealGames is packed full of them!”

Among the thrilling, energetic titles available to play on the online gaming site is Alien Shooter 2 – a large-scale sequel to the ever-popular Alien Shooter. The entire world’s population has been recruited to serve in the army after an invasion of rebel aliens, who are destroying the cities and capturing new territories, igniting a Great War. Explosions, guns and intergalactic invaders – this is why action games are so popular!

The second most popular category of video game was the ‘Shooter’ category – and MyRealGames also has a plethora of titles that fall are both shooters and action games:

3D Sniper is a fast-paced shooter where players are tasked with an important mission: to destroy the terrorist camps based in eastern Africa. Agent Combat offers a similar adrenaline-pumping experience, as players enter their enemy base and attempt to destroy all opponents, proving once and for all whether they’re a real hero. Then there is the more light-hearted Pirate Bay, where players must protect their island and all of the treasure they’ve looted, using a good old canon and plenty of gunpowder. Ready, aim… fire!
