He’s alive, no wait he’s Ray’s the Dead! Ragtag Studio, an indie development studio comprised of industry veterans, today announced that their quirky, story-driven action adventure game, Ray’s The Dead will be shambling its way to the PlayStation® Vita handheld system as a Cross-Buy title. First announced for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system at Sony’s E3 2013 Press Conference, the game’s official Kickstarter campaign has already met its initial funding goal, as well as being Greenlit for release on Steam. The undead charmer now has its cold dead eyes set on funding its exciting stretch goals. As an added bonus, backers of the Ray’s The Dead Kickstarter campaign that plan to raise the dead on their PlayStation 4 will have instant, and free, access to the game on their PS Vita via the Cross-Buy functionality.

KeyArt18x24“We’re very excited to bring Ray’s the Dead to the PS Vita,” said Chris Cobb, Project Director and Co-founder at Ragtag Studio. “It’s been nothing short of amazing to see the support we’ve gotten for our beloved undead hero, and we’re hoping to see more fans rally to help us achieve our Vita and PlayStation TV specific stretch goal with our remaining Kickstarter days.”

As the Ray’s The Dead Kickstarter campaign continues, new and exciting stretch goals have the possibility to even further expand upon the functionality of the PS Vita version, allowing for even more interaction between the Vita and PS4 versions, as well as support for the forthcoming PlayStation TV.

Ray’s the Dead is a uniquely stylized action-adventure game where players take on the role of Ray LaMorte. Players will experience the life - and afterlife - of Ray through dual narrative storytelling and over-the-top action, where they will unravel the secrets behind Ray's death, and the mysterious device lodged into his brain. It’s story driven gameplay will challenge players with a satisfying blend of action, tactics, puzzle, stealth, and adventure, all rolled into one fresh gaming experience. Players will sneak, smash, laugh, and moan their way through the last hurrah of the 1980’s as they take on the role of Ray, the newly risen zombie. Along the way they will discover who Ray really is, how he ended up dead, and most curiously, what is this giant light bulb contraption sticking out of his head! Ray will make fantastic new friends and build a diverse zombie army to crush his human opponents. Ray’s the Dead will take players on an adventure unlike any they’ve seen before as they experience his fun and exciting tale! Ray’s the Dead is a zombie game with real brraaaiiins… and heart.

Ray’s the Dead is currently being developed by Ragtag Studio for PlayStation 4, PS Vita, PC, Mac and Linux. More details are available at the Ray’s the Dead Kickstarter page, which will be continually updated throughout the campaign which ends on September 21.
