The LEGO Neighborhood Book (Book Review)

No Starch Press has announced The LEGO Neighborhood Book for $19.95 by Brian and Jason Lyles. The book contains over 204 pages of beautifully built LEGO creations with a gallery of the author's designs alongside a discussion of the design process and step-by-step instructions. Read on to learn more.

The LEGO Neighborhood Book is a visual guide to creating LEGO masterpieces with more details for deciding on your base size, connecting the buildings and building depth and height. The book then goes into the complex design process of bringing LEGO buildings to life by choosing colors and achieving symmetry. While the building and design process are crucial to the creation of your LEGO masterpiece--the art doesn't truly become your own until you add personal details that make it distinctive from other pieces out there.

The one thing that The LEGO Neighborhood Book does for the reader is give them the inspiration to start their own LEGO Neighborhood by breaking the process down with descriptive details to make it seem more plausible and doable. Upon first glance, many of the buildings look too difficult to do, especially if you have never picked up a LEGO, but as you continue reading The LEGO Neighborhood Book then the process is simplified and becomes more feasible to achieve.

All-in-all, The LEGO Neighborhood Book is a good building guide for creating your own LEGO universe with complete, step-by-step instructions for four multistory buildings alongside dozens of ideas to use in your very own designs. If you have been thinking of building your own LEGO creations, then look no further then The LEGO Neighborhood Book!
