From the Press Release
Dovetail Games, publisher and developer of the leading train simulation game Train Simulator, has announced that the latest installment in the series, Train Simulator 2015, launches today. Train Simulator 2015 will give players the opportunity to drive some of the world’s most powerful high-speed trains on three iconic routes from around the globe.

Routes & content:

  • London to Peterborough East Coast Main Line route: Including the First Capital Connect Class 365 plus Hitachi Class 801 trains
  • New York to New Haven North East Corridor route: Including the Amtrak ACS-64 plus Amtrak Acela Express trains
  • Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen route: Including the DB BR 426 plus DB 411 ICE T trains

Key product developments:

TS 2015 will include the newly created TS Academy, a training area designed to introduce new players to the series quickly and easily. In TS Academy players can experience all types of trains, as well as mastering different environments and learning the intricacies of train operations and signaling systems. They can go from beginner to pro, earning driver licenses and awards along the way.

“The cornerstone of this year’s game is encouraging players, both new and experienced, to master their machines” said Adam Lucas, Producer at Dovetail Games. “Learning to drive trains can be complex so the aim of including TS Academy is to get all players playing quickly and easily, giving them the opportunity to really master the task as they progress through the game.”

The game launch is supported by a global PR and marketing campaign, which includes a launch trailer narrated by legendary British actor Sean Bean.

“Last year we started to widen our messaging to a broader audience via our #WeAreRailFans campaign, and we were delighted with the response we received from fans across the world, giving a huge thumbs-up to our trailer and interacting really positively on www.wearerailfans.com,” said Dovetail’s Director of Brand, Doug McConkey. “So this year we were keen to provide the next chapter of that story, to salute rail fans and everything they love about these mighty machines.”

Train Simulator 2015 will be available for PC and will be compatible with an existing range of more than 100 add-on locomotives and routes, which allow fans the ability to customize their experience. Players can create and edit routes and scenarios and share them via Steam Workshop. The game will be available to buy as a boxed product at leading video game and other entertainment retailers. It is also available to download from the online gaming platform, Steam.

Jackson County Fair in Scottsboro, Alabama (Event Review)

The Jackson County Fair has invaded Scottsboro, Alabama for the week of October 7-11, 2014, but the event may be a waste of money for some.  The fair was the 79th annual showing and was presented by Kissel Entertainment. The event featured rides, exhibits, games and great (yet too expensive) food for attendees at the show. Families could have enjoyed a great time at the fair grounds, but the event wasn't cheap and it didn't feature some of the more prominent attractions like one would find at larger, state fairs and carnivals. The turn out very low in Scottsboro though, and many would think that this would make it easier to enjoy the event but not even small lines could help make the Jackson County event fun. The Jackson County Fair had over a dozen rides for all age groups. The fair's massive Ferris Wheel towered high in the sky and helped light up the event, while the Moby Dick ride and Gravitron also looked fearsome and stood tall even from a distance. Plenty of ...
