Vlad The Impaler Now Available On Steam With 50% Price Drop and New Gameplay Feature

Sections Studios' Vlad the Impaler is now available for PC and Mac via Steam for $4.99. Players will get the beautiful art and story just like you would find in a graphic novel with a ton of added features like player deaths, chapter encounters, stat cards and more. Read on.

Section Studios’ gothic interactive graphic novel Vlad The Impaler is now available on Steam for $4.99 (PC and Mac). With stellar art and story that is reminiscent of a graphic novel, Vlad is presented with video game play, allowing people to solve quests, gain abilities and use RPG elements to make decisions that shape the outcome of a the story. Each playthrough offers a different experience and immersive storytelling.


New features are listed below, and to celebrate the update, Section Studios is holding an art contest until Halloween. The winner will have their work appear in the game with credits and the winner, second and third place artists will receive a professional quality print of the Vlad the Impaler World Map! New Features Include:

  • Player Deaths - Players must now think more carefully when making decisions in quests and combat. If any stat reaches 0, they will die.
  • Chapter Encounters - In every chapter, there are now encounters where fighters must make a decision based on their stats. If a player makes an illogical choice and has insufficient stats, they will die.
  • Stats Card - Gamers can now view their stats, attacks and weapon at any time from the map screen. Each attack listed will also display which stats drive that action.
  • Quests - Players can now choose from a list of quests in each location. This allows combatants to focus on making more logical choices to drive particular stats. Quests also appear in a more logical order.
  • Weapons - Warriors now choose their weapon from a list of drops. This also allows them to tailor their stats. Additionally, rare weapons now appear under special conditions.
