Big Hero 6 is an upcoming film from Walt Disney Animation Studios. The film comes from the creators of Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph, and the release will be the 54th major film from the studio. Big Hero 6 is based on a comic book series from the Marvel universe, but directors Don Hall and Chris Williams were given free access to the franchise to make the narrative from the upcoming film truly their own. The team behind the film has described Big Hero 6 as a super hero animated film based around the theme of family that one is born into and the one that is found later in life. Big Hero 6 looks to be a very emotional and highly entertaining film that fans of animated Disney movies will want to rush out and see in theaters when it releases in November.
Big Hero 6 centers around a brilliant young mind that goes by the name of Hiro Hamada. The boy lives in the fictional city of San Fransokyo and is obsessed with robotics. A terrible change of events finds Hiro in control of a friendly robot named Baymax--who was originally created by Hiro's brother. Things go from bad to worse for Hiro when a villain rises up to threaten the city, but the young hero decides to fight back using his knowledge of robotics to do so. The narrative seems to be very promising, and we can't wait to see what is sure to be a surprising ending for the movie, as any fan of the comic series would expect.
Walt Disney Animation Studios invited BioGamer Girl to preview some behind the scenes action for Big Hero 6. One major innovation the upcoming film makes is with the Hyperion rendering tool. The new software allows the animation company to produce some of the most impressive visuals to date. The team behind the film demonstrated how the tool allowed them to render images of greater complexity and richness than ever before. The quality of the light is also incredibly high and full of detail that is almost indistinguishable from authentic light seen in the real world. The work created from Hyperion will appear in both Big Hero 6 and the Feast short that will play before movie begins.
Big Hero 6 will not only be an emotional journey for fans, but the film is also an action packed flick full of intense battles that will play out on the big screen this November. The intensity will really pick up in the film once other major characters are introduced that make up the super hero team in Big Hero 6. Hiro uses all of his knowledge in robotics combined with the creativity and personalities of the friends he makes along the way to create fantastic weapons and outfits that reflect the hero inside of each new member of the team including the fiery attacks of fanboy Fred and the quick and powerful wheels of Go Go Tomago. Walt Disney Animation Studios gave us a behind the scenes look at the creation of some of these items, and we were definitely impressed with how the studio brought these action sequences to life in an effort to recreate some of the adrenaline pumping sequences first seen in the pages of the Marvel comic series.
The innovative technology in Big Hero 6 manages to amplify the already entertaining and immersive storyline. Big Hero 6 seems to be in good hands behind the direction of Don Hall and Chris Williams. The trailers for the film and the parts of the movie we were showed highlighted a level of emotion that can evoke feelings of loss, close friendships and comedy for anyone watching it. Many of the characters in the film are instantly relatable, and it's difficult not to stand up and cheer when seeing Baymax's transition from a harmless ball of air to a wrecking ball capable of knocking down buildings with his bare hands. Fantastic voice acting bring the characters to life on the big screen and give the film's creators the flexibility to give larger than life personalities to the protagonists and antagonists in the upcoming animated film. Even with all sorts of groundbreaking technology used to create the special affects and animations present in the film--the lasting impact of the movie could come from the film's excellent writing, directing and acting in the end.
Big Hero 6 will bring one of Marvel comics lesser known but still beloved franchises to the public eye in a huge way. The film will truly be Walt Disney Animation Studio's own creation, but the film's characters and world will still feel authentic to those seen in the comic series so that any fan of Big Hero 6 will be able to enjoy the new film. The film is full of comedy, action and emotions, and fans of the animation studio can rest easy knowing Big Hero 6 could easily be one of the best films to release over the last several years from the company. Lovable characters and a touching storyline makes Big Hero 6 easy to relate to for viewers, while the technology behind the film makes Big Hero 6 one of the most visually impressive animated films to release in some time. Big Hero 6 is out November 7, 2014 in theaters nationwide.
