GitHub has announced the release of its new GitHub Student Developer Pack which allows students to access the amazing Unreal Engine 4 for free! If you are a student age 13+ who has enrolled in a degree or a diploma course of study then you are eligible to sign up. Read on to learn more.

GitHub just released its GitHub Student Developer Pack which offers students free access to Unreal Engine 4! Since releasing UE4 for free to schools and universities back in August, Epic is expanding on their commitment to support education by offering the full engine directly to students through this collaboration with GitHub. In other exciting news, game creator Tetsuya Nomura confirmed this week thatKingdom Hearts III is developed with Unreal Engine 4. Nomura commented that the game’s development will progress smoothly with Epic's support. On tomorrow’s Twitch livestream, Epic’s Senior Technical Artist Jon Lindquist and Senior VFX Artist Tim Elek join Dana Cowley and Chance Ivey to discuss visual effect concepts and tools including pivot painter, morph targets, mesh particles, and vertex shading. There will be live demos, updates on new Marketplace additions, community spotlights and more! Fans can submit questions here
Additionally, Epic kicked off its first support livestream yesterday, which focused on learning the Unreal Cascade particle system and VFX. You can replay the the stream here. The next support stream will take place on Tuesday, October 21 at 11 am PT / 2pm ET. Mark your calendars!
