Atlus has released its new fighting game Persona 4 Arena Ultimax for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 that allows up to two players to join in the co-op goodness. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is the sequel to Persona 4 Arena with characters from both Persona 3 and Persona 4 jumping into the Arena to kick off the story were it left off last. Are you ready to join the adventure? Read on to learn more.
Six new players will be added to the fun in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax during the tournament like Sho Minazuki who joins fan-favorites like Junpei, Rise, Yukari, Ken & Koromaru. If you love anime-style fighting games that are very combo-heavy then you will love Persona 4 Arena Ultimax! Now, let's get started.
One thing fans will notice upon starting up Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is the insanely fun soundtrack with bright, colorful visuals. When you start up Persona 4 Arena Ultimax you will have the opportunity to start a ranked match or a player match. Players will be able to watch the leaderboards to see how they perform against other gamers while they climb the ranks in the arena.
The tutorial mode for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is very helpful in getting started and learning all of the basics alongside the controls for each character. While there are a ton of characters to choose from, gamers may want to start out with someone like Mitsuru since some characters are easier to control then others. If you are very new to the Persona franchise, then you would want to pick characters with large hitboxes to start with since it makes it way simpler to hit your opponents. After each match, you can look at your stat box to the right of the screen which shows the amount of matches and wins you have achieved alongside your current grade and top PSR.
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax also offers gamers the ability to practice in the Lesson, Training and Challenge modes before jumping into the main story, battles and network matches. In between gameplay, players can check out information for registered players via the Player List, edit their P-Card or shop for new content on the Xbox Games Store. Some of the options available in "Battle" section include the ability to play the Arcade, ScoreAttack, GoldenArena and Versus modes. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax offers a lot of content for your money and has a very high degree of replayability. The Arcade mode is a blast and is a good way to kill time in between ranked matches. If you want more of a challenge, then you can try ScoreAttack to fight against the CPU to see who gets the highest score or level up in the dungeons with GoldenArena Mode. If you are looking for more low-key gameplay, then the challenging some friends in Versus Mode is pretty fun and enjoyable.
For a fighting game, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax features a pretty decent story mode which starts out with Chapter 1: A Mysterious Guest. The voice acting and characters are spot on for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax alongside a great soundtrack, exquisite visuals and responsive controls. The story starts out with a little dialogue between Igor and Margaret who sets up the story with a little information about Yu Narukami. The game starts off on May 5th which is the day after the player saw the Labrys and Shadow Operatives off. You start off in the chaotic Junes Food Court with a fun little segment between Yosuke, Yu, Kanji, Teddie, Yukiko and Chie. However, two members are missing for the meeting which are Rise-chan and Nao-chan. If you didn't play the last game, then this is basically where you will play catch up with the story, which talks about the Midnight Channel, the Labrys and previous events.
After the fun intro, players now know more about the strange fighting tournament called the P-1 Grand Prix and continue the case of trying to figure out why the culprit put Labrys in the TV to begin with and who even done it. Our characters have decided to investigate the case on their own and this is where the story continues. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is an excellent fighting game with intriguing characters that keep the story fresh and exciting until the very end. The combat in Persona 4 Ultimax is additively entertaining with all of the great combos and diverse characters which offers up a ton of variety in gameplay.
In the end, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is a good game that will keep players entertained for hours on end rather it be in its action-packed fighting matches or immersive storyline, there seems to be something for everyone to enjoy. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is now available from all major retailers and can be purchased for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is rated T for Teen by the ESRB.
