Remote Area Medical Press Screening Coming to New York

New York's Magno Review will host a special press screening for the upcoming film Remote Area Medical on Tuesday, November 4 at 6:00 PM to allow media to get their first glimpse at the upcoming film. The press event will include information and interviews on some of the subjects and creators of the documentary. More details follow.


Stan Brock | Subject
Born in Lancashire, England, Stan Brock is perhaps best known for his years as the co-host of NBC’s Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom from 1963-1971.

In 1985 Stan Brock founded Remote Area Medical (RAM). Since then RAM has mobilized over 80,000 volunteers and healthcare professionals to deliver over $75,000,000 worth of free quality medical procedures and services. He has addressed The United States Congress on the needs of providing free quality healthcare to those who cannot afford it nor have direct access to it. Stan has received numerous accolades for his work with Remote Area Medical, including the prestigious Inamori Ethics Prize for humanitarian leaders in 2010 and CNN’s Hero Award in 2012.

Jeff Reichert | Producer/Director
Jeff Reichert’s first feature film, Gerrymandering, premiered at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival where it was named one of the best of the festival by New York Magazine. His second feature film, Remote Area Medical, had its world premiere at the 2013 Full Frame Documentary Film Festival and has won numerous awards and screened at festivals across the U.S. It is slated for theatrical release in Fall of 2014. His short, Kombit, premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, and he recently premiered his third feature, This Time Next Year, at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival. He is the co-editor of the popular online journal Reverse Shot.

Farihah Zaman | Producer/Director
Farihah Zaman is a Brooklyn-based journalist, producer, and programmer. Her diverse background in the film industry includes programming and serving on the Advisory Board of the Film South Asia documentary film festival, working as the Acquisitions Manager at Magnolia Pictures, and working as the Program Manager of The Flaherty, organizing their historic, contentious annual film seminar and launching a monthly screening series at Anthology Film Archives. She is currently a staff writer at the film journal Reverse Shot, blogs for the Huffington Post, and has produced such projects as the trailer for the 2010 New York Film Festival. Her first feature film is Remote Area Medical, which was followed by the short Kombit (2014 Sundance Film Festival) and second feature This Time Next Year (2014 Tribeca Film Festival).
