SEGA and Hailo Bring The Crazy Taxi City Rush Cab To NYCC 2014

SEGA and Hailo have announced a new collaboration to bring Crazy Taxi to the real world starting at this year's New York Comic Con. Fans who attend the event between October 9th until the 10th will get a chance to ride in an official Crazy Taxi Rush cab for free! Read on to learn more.

From the Press Release
SEGA Networks Inc. and Hailo, one of the world’s fastest growing e-hail apps, today announced a collaboration that will bring Crazy Taxi™ to life, and to attendees of New York Comic-Con (NYCC) on October 9th and 10th, 2014.

To celebrate the recent addition of renowned wrestler, Hulk Hogan, to SEGA’s Crazy Taxi City Rush mobile game, SEGA and Hailo will be operating an official Crazy Taxi City Rush cab to give NYCC attendees free – and safe – rides from the Javits Center to their desired location. Select Hailo cabs will be wrapped to resemble the look and feel of the actual Crazy Taxi City Rush vehicles in the game. Attendees need only to hail a taxi using the Hailo app for a chance to be randomly selected to get scooped up in the Crazy Taxi City Rush cab. Lucky riders will also have a chance to win exclusive prizes including signed Hulk Hogan merchandise and more during their Hailo/Crazy Taxi City Rush ride.

The Crazy Taxi City Rush cab will be driving around Javits Center for NYCC on October 9th from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on the 10th from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Attendees who download the free Hailo app will have the opportunity to ride in the Crazy Taxi City Rush cab for a free ride anywhere in Manhattan south of 100th St.

“The Crazy Taxi brand is fast, fun, and energetic. It’s a great compliment to New York Comic-Con, which has a long-standing tradition of celebrating comics, games and pop culture,” said Chris Olson, SVP of Sega Networks. “Thanks in large part to our collaboration with Hailo, we’re able to give our fans a unique experience -- bringing Crazy Taxi City Rush to life.”

As a special guest, Smosh Games’ David “Lasercorn” Moss will be surprising passengers from inside the prize cab on both days. Riders may choose to take part in a trivia contest for comic and pop-culture fans, answering Lasercorn’s trivia challenges for a chance at prizes including signed Hulk Hogan toy taxis, iPhone 5 cases, and more.

Crazy Taxi City Rush recently added Hulk Hogan to its roster of in-game drivers for a month-long activation. During the month of October, players can hire Hulk Hogan as a driver and be treated to his voice and likeness as they customize their in-game taxis with Hulk Hogan-themed content.

“We’re excited to partner with SEGA to bring the Crazy Taxi City Rush cab to life at New York Comic-Con. Hailing a cab with Hailo is as easy as jumping in the back of a Crazy Taxi, except the real world version of a Hailo car comes with the safety and convenience of a licensed Hailo driver requested with just 2 taps of our smartphone app,” said Kevin Hatfield, President of Hailo North America.

Hailo’s Crazy Taxi City Rush cab will let Comic-Con attendees remain in control of their experience – while bringing the fun of NYCC into the vehicle for the ride.

Crazy Taxi City Rush and Hailo are available on iPhone®, iPad®, iPod touch® and Android™ devices.

Hailo is available as a free download from the iTunes App Store and Google Play. Simply search "Hailo."
