The Game Marketing Summit® (GMS), the essential conference for interactive game marketers, today announced that the Call for Entries for the 10th Annual Game Marketing Awards (GMA), which honors the best practices in marketing, promotion and advertising exclusively for the interactive game marketing community, is open. GMA winners will be presented on the evening of Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, CA. The deadline to submit works for consideration is Thursday, February 19, 2015.

“With video games playing a central role in American entertainment, the challenges for game marketers have consequently grown, as audiences become both broader and deeper,” said Carolyn Feinstein, co-chair, Game Marketing Board of Governors. “Marketing professionals across industries look to the games business and the innovation and creativity exhibited in connecting with our cutting edge players. The GMAs put a spotlight on the most compelling and valuable marketing developments.”

New categories this year include GMA’s GaMeS Give Award which honors one GMS Member company’s best use of games to promote a charity. This award will celebrate the winner’s outstanding commitment to a nonprofit partnership, prosocial cause, and/or its local community. Other categories that are new this year recognize excellence in Free-to-Play, Indie, Kickstarter and Mobile projects, as well as Public Relations and Influencer Integration. Additionally, for the first time ever, the GMA will feature a fan vote for Favorite Trailer. Entries are judged on excellence in strategy, creativity and execution, as well as results in achieving objectives.

"It’s amazing to see how game marketers are using emerging technology opportunities, game design, social media communication tools, and more to serve a growing and extremely savvy audience,” said Kym Nelson, co-chair, Game Marketing Board of Governors and senior vice president, Sales, Twitch. “The GMA winners represent the pinnacle of achievement in game marketing. If you’re interested in the future of marketing, you can see it now at the GMAs."

The prestigious Game Marketing Awards, judged by a jury of industry leaders, will be presented at a ceremony on Wednesday, April 22, in conjunction with the 2014 Game Marketing Summit at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
