Evolve Open Beta Test Announced For January 2015

2K and Turtle Rock Studios has revealed that the open Beta for Evolve will take place from January 15-19, 2015 on Xbox One. The release will allow players to test out the game's exclusive "Hunt" mode and much more. Are you ready to learn more about this epic news? Read on.

2K and Turtle Rock Studios announced today that the Open Beta test for the much anticipated 4v1 shooter, EvolveTM, is coming exclusively to Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, January 15 - 19, 2015. Evolve is a next-generation shooter where four hunters face off against a single, player-controlled monster in adrenaline-pumping 4v1 matches. To date, Evolve has won more than 60 awards and editorial honors - making it the most critically acclaimed game coming in 2015 - and is the only game in history to earn the official E3 and Gamescom "Game of Show" awards in the same year.

From the moment the exclusive Xbox One Open Beta begins at 6AM ET on Thursday, January 15, players can experience Evolve's core "Hunt" mode, while unlocking new Monsters and Hunters as they play. New Hunter and Monster characters unlocked in the Xbox One Open Beta will carry over to the final retail version of the game. Starting on January 17, Xbox One Open Beta players will gain exclusive access to Evacuation, Evolve's dynamic campaign that combines the full array of maps and modes into a unique and highly replayable experience. 2K and Turtle Rock Studios also announced the third playable Monster character today, as well as an all-new way to experience Evolve offline.

  • Wraith - The third playable Monster character is a small, terrifying, stealthy assassin that is quick in her movements and has two exceptionally long blades to deal damage up close. Despite having the least amount of health and armor among Evolve's Monsters, Wraith's quick, warping movements allow her to dart around during battle to avoid taking damage.   • Offline Solo Experience - Every character, every map, and every mode in Evolve can be experienced entirely offline as a solo player competing against computer-controlled opponents. Whether playing as the Monster, or hot-swapping between an entire team of four Hunters, Evolve's unique blend of 4v1 gameplay is particularly enjoyable alone when playing the dynamic campaign, Evacuation, which combines the full array of maps and modes into a highly replayable experience.
