Epic Games has announced some new happenings for Unreal Engine 4 with the ability to submit their projects at GDC 2015.
EPIC CALLS FOR SUBMISSIONS TO DEMO AT GDC
On last week’s Twitch livestream, Epic Games announced that they are offering up a limited number of demo pods to the community at their GDC booth to showcase games developed on UE4. Unreal Engine developers are invited to submit their projects and get a chance to share their work with GDC attendees, receive valuable peer feedback, and hang out with the Epic team! Epic will be accepting submissions until Saturday, January 31. You can find more details about the submission process here.
THIS WEEK ON TWITCH: ANIMATION, ANIMATION, ANIMATION (AND MORE!)
On today’s livestream, UE4’s Senior Programmer Lina Halper and Lead Animator Jay Hosfelt sit down with Community Manager Chance Ivey to showcase some of the awesome new animation features in Unreal Engine 4.7. Some of these features include animation editing in the editor and recording from physics. In addition, the team will be announcing the theme for the January Game Jam!
Viewers can submit questions here and can tune in at 11am PT / 2pm ET at http://www.twitch.tv/unrealengine.
Earlier this week Epic hosted its Blender animation support stream, with UE4’s Senior Technical Animator Kevin Vassey and Developer Support Manager Sean Palomino showing viewers how to import/export FBX files in Blender, configure units and Kevin even shared his Blender/UE4 pipeline workflow. You can check out the archived stream here.
