The World According to Iron Man (Book Review)

The World According to Iron Man is the newest release for the Insight Legends series from publisher Insight Editions. The book follows the successful releases of The World According to Spider-Man and The World According to Wolverine with an all new story starring multibillionaire Tony Stark. The book captures in its pages everything that makes Tony Stark special from his lavish lifestyle to his smug, narcissistic demeanor to the dark personality that lies beneath it all. Fans of Iron Man and Marvel Comics will be thrilled with the new release that is packed with some neat tear outs to go with the fun story.


As with each book we've seen in the Insight Legends series so far, The World According to Iron Man is packed with over 60 pages of unique content that is both highly entertaining for all fans of Marvel Comics and highly authentic to the original characters and worlds created by the brand. The pages include plenty of details about Tony Stark and his personal life, but fans also get a chance to learn more about the other good guys including Rhodey and Pepper Potts and villains that include Obadiah Stane and Justin Hammer. The book also includes a look at the history of the Iron Man from Mark I up to Hulkbuster and beyond. Fans would have to read over a hundred comics just to get part of the information contained within the pages of The World According to Iron Man.

The Insight Legends series is full of special content that can be taken beyond the pages of the book. For The World According to Iron Man, Insight Editions did a good job of creating removable items that fit well in the Iron Man universe. Blueprints for an Iron Man suit, a New Year's party invite from Tony Stark, a Stark Industries business card and stock in Stark Industries are all included in the book and can be removed by owners. Additionally, fans will find a really cool pop-up of an Iron Man suit mid-flight. Of course, it wouldn't be like Tony Stark not to include a signed picture of himself with the book, so that's included with the book at no extra charge too.

The World According to Iron Man embodies all of the attributes that makes Iron Man one of the most popular characters from the Marvel Comics universe. The book's pages are full of interesting information on the character, his acquaintances and adversaries and the world Tony Stark has built for himself. Some really cool bonus features give the book some longevity with items fans will want to show off in their collection of comic memorabilia.
