We initially explored the world of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen on Xbox 360 in 2013 at BioGamer Girl. While we knew how the game would end, it was amazing to see how the game had improved visually for the PC version. The game never looked better than it does with the new release and exploring everything the title had to offer once again was quite the adventure. The game has also been improved in other ways like tweaks to some of the minor annoyances from the console version on top of way better frame rates. The game never crashed once for us on PC.
A ton of games have gotten remade in the last decade, and it is definitely a treat to get to replay a beautiful new version of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen for PC. The game is the perfect way to experience the game if you never played the original since you get all of the added-on content at a ridiculously cheap price. Dark Arisen takes place on the mysterious Bitterblack Isle where you are ferried over by Olra. The dungeon offers up a linear experience with reskined versions of the game's original enemies alongside a few unique boss encounters. The enemies are incredibly hard in Dark Arisen so it is best to have a very high character before jumping into the game's expansion on PC.
In the end, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen looks and plays beautifully on PC and is a great way to experience the game rather you or new to the title or a veteran. If you are looking to jump into the game in 2016 then look no further than the PC release for $29.99 packed full of Steam supported Achievements.
