West Coast Software has released D/Generation HD for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Are you ready to experience this remastered version of the game on modern day consoles and PC? Read on to learn more.
D/Generation HD takes place in the year 2021 with Genoq being a leader in bio-medical research. The company is located inside a large tower that is 90 stories high and contains highly illegal bio-weapons research. A fatal accident occurs on June 26th where the organic weapons escape and threaten the well-being of the employees inside the tower and the world.
The game starts out with your character receiving a phone call during a relaxing evening in your apartment in Paris. After receiving the details of your mission, you arrive on the Genoq's 80th floor to deliver a special package for the lead scientist Derrida. However, you soon find out that your mission isn't as simple as you thought, and now must climb the tower to save the employees trapped inside while stopping a deadly virus from destroying all life on the planet.
D/Generation HD contains all the elements of old-school games that you enjoyed in the late eighties/early nineties but with a few modern day touches. Your goal is basically to help or hinder the surviving employees while delivering the important package to Derrida to avoid the end of everything as you know it.
The puzzles in D/Generation HD can become very complex but remain rewarding throughout the entire game. On each floor, it tells you how many survivors can be saved alongside the rooms that are left to clear. Your lives and items also appear alongside the edge of the screen and if you loose all of your lives then you restart at the very beginning of the game.
In the end, D/Generation HD was a very fun game that played beautifully on Xbox One. The new HD version added high res graphics with music by Mark Knight alongside a revamped control system, leaderboards and achievements. One of the best features added to the game was the ability to save anywhere at anytime--which really helps as you progress throughout the tower's difficult puzzles.
