PAX East 2016: Twitch Announces Friends and Ad-Free Viewing for Subs

Twitch announced several new updates at PAX East 2016 with the introduction of Friends, Ad-Free Viewing for Subs and a redesigned Creative Directory. Read on.


Twitch is making the gaming experience more friendly with the introduction of the Friends List. As you may guess, the Friends List will allow users to connect with their Friends, see who’s online, and whisper to them with the click of a button. The Creative Directory has been redesigned to allow users to view subdirectories and highlighted streamers by selecting hashtags within the most popular Creative categories. Lastly, Twitch announced that users will soon be able to watch streams ad-free when they subscribe to their favorite broadcasters.

Huntsville Comic & Pop Culture Expo 2026 Returns for Its Biggest Year Yet
