Red Right Hand (Book Review)

Tor Books has announced the release of Red Right Hand by Levi Black for $24.99. The hardcover book manages to combine the elements of classic horror and that of modern day macabre for a fantastic story. Read on.

Red Right Hand tells the story of Charlie Tristan Moore who is on the mission to save the entire world from the Elder Gods. Charlie isn't the type of character you would call a Hero per say but is more of a survivor trying to overcome the demons of her past. After coming home one night to a full-blown nightmare with vicious skinhounds, Charlie is saved by a mysterious man in black. She soon finds that her rescue comes at a price as the mysterious man is an elder god and demands Charlie become his Acolyte.

The elder god takes her love Daniel as a hostage to ensure her obedience and forces Charlie to embrace the dark magic within her. She joins the elder god's crusade and sets out on a mission to destroy the other elder gods and save all of humanity. Charlie must realize if the Man in Black has more to tell than his red right hand and if she is on a treacherous journey that she can't come back from.

Red Right Hand is a compelling story that manages to masterfully combine horror and urban fantasy into a fantastically told story. The entire story will keep readers on the edge of their seats as they hang onto every word as the terrifying nightmare unfolds.

In the end, Red Right Hand is a beautifully stylish story that immediately immerses the reader into its dark world keeping them engagingly terrified until the very end.
