Worms W.M.D (Video Game Review)

Team17 celebrates the 21st anniversary of Worms with Worms W.M.D.

Worms W.M.D
brings back all of the Worms physics and gameplay that you loved alongside a new look and features. Gamers will be able to use a wide array of approaches such as hiding in buildings, using mounted guns and riding around in a variety of vehicles. There is also the ability to play online and compete against your friends in action-packed multiplayer matches.

Worms W.M.D
features hand-drawn 2D visuals, fun never-before-seen weapons, and the introduction of crafting. Gamers will make their way through 30 campaign levels with each one increasing a little more in difficulty with a 80 weapons at hand to defeat their foes. Players battle against five opponents with up to eight worms each in local, online multiplayer, or ranked play.

The ability to craft weapons in Worms W.M.D really adds a new degree of immersion to the classic Worms gameplay. You can gather parts from crates or by taking apart weapons to craft your very own unique weapon of choice. The addition of buildings in the Worms series also allows players who like a more stealthy approach to gain a tactical advantage against their opponents. The fun doesn't stop there because Worms now have the ability to control tanks, helicopters, machine guns and even flamethrowers.

When you boot up Worms W.M.D, players are given the option to create their own customized team of Worms. This gives gamers the opportunity to change their worms outfit, speechbank, victory dance, gravestone and fanfare alongside their scheme settings. Before jumping into multiplayer sessions, you can enhance your skills through training, campaign or challenge sessions.

One thing I noticed and liked most about Worms W.M.D. was the beautifully designed maps and animations. The soundtrack and audio can also be quite humorous and helps to really set the mood for the silly action-packed gameplay. In the end, the new formula works for Worms W.M.D and delivers some interesting brawls and online play despite the repetitive nature of some of the maps. If your a fan of the Worms franchise, then you will probably want to jump into the new content in Worms W.M.D.

Key Features:

  • Wonderfully 2D: The best implementation of the Worms formula yet, now with a brand new worm, and gorgeous digitally-painted 2D artwork.
  • Vehicles: Worm warfare gets serious with the introduction of vehicles for the first time in the series. Dominate the landscape in warfare-ready tanks, take to the skies to unleash hell from from above in helicopters and more!

  • New and classic weapons: Over 80 weapons and utilities at your fingertips, including many returning classics and a slew of new additions such as the Dodgy Phone Battery, the Unwanted Present and the OMG strike.

Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
