Storm8 launches Hungry Babies Mania: Global Events.

With e-sports and competitive gaming heating up, video and mobile game devs alike are seeking new ways to engage players in friendly competition – like King and its most recent launch, Shuffle Cats. Storm8 is continually bringing innovation to competitive casual gaming (like Candy Blast Mania’s Puzzle Tournaments in May), and they’re launching a new feature along that vein in Hungry Babies Mania: Global Events. Global Events allows players to compete and collaborate to earn extra rewards. In each of the four Global Events, players are tasked to collect a specific type of item to win special prizes when a level is completed. The four events are: Solo, Leaderboard, Community and Team vs. Team.

The Team vs. Team event introduces players to a team-based competition not before seen in a casual puzzle game. Players are randomly selected to join a specific team to battle up to three other teams to collect and win special rewards – a first in a match-3 game. The feature offers something fresh to casual game players – a competitive and collaborative feature, typically only found in hard- and mid-core titles. Content is planned to refresh weekly, with events lasting up to 5 days.
