Necropolis (Video Game Review)

Bandai Namco has released Necropolis for PS4 and Xbox One.

Necropolis brings an entirely new adventure to PS4 that can be played with up to three friends. The release has the elements of a dungeon crawler mixed with third person action mechanics that take place within a fast paced deathtrap.

In Necropolis the world around you reconstructs itself every time you play making it a new experience each time. Players are able to use their crafting abilities to make invaluable items that allow them to explore and fight their way deeper into the massive levels of the game.

The environments in the game have been crafted in such a way that they bring on a sense of eerie creepiness as you make your way through each level. Necropolis doesn't focus on customization, but offers you either a male or female rogue character with only slight differentiations between them, in regards to appearance and color. As you make your way into the dungeon, gamers will notice the intense audio soundtrack that features eerie screams and horror themed music.

It is easy to see that Necropolis oozes nostalgia from its design through its unique sound and graphics. However, just like old-school games, Necropolis is extremely difficult and relentless which can cause many players to find their way to the nearest exit. The gameplay soon feels like you are completing the same moves over and over which starts to slow down the pace of the title to a staggering crawl.

In the end, Necropolis has some great elements that could have made it a fantastic title but some of the combat mechanics and repetition seem to hinder that. If you would like to learn more, visit the official Necropolis website.

Features:
  • An all new playable, heavy-hitting adventurer: The Brute
  • A completely new outdoor environment: The Black Forest
  • Lots of new enemies, weapons, armor, traps, potions, scrolls
  • Other big improvements, for the definitive NECROPOLIS experience.

Score: 6 out of 10

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...

Tucked along Main Street, this little diner doesn’t just serve food—it serves nostalgia. Walking in, you’re greeted with that small-town charm you just can’t fake.
