The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 (iOS Review)

FISHLABS and KING Art have released The Book of Unwritten Tales 2  for mobile devices.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2  takes players into a world in search of brave new heroes. Gamers will venture into Aventásia with unusual characters like Wilbur, Ivo, Nate, and Critter. Our heroes have yet to realize their true potential and it is up to you to guide them to their destiny.

There is a lot to enjoy in The Book of Unwritten Tales 2  with its 20 hours of wacky entertainment and exquisite visuals. Gamers will notice right off the bat that the game does something unique when it comes to the storyline full of eventful puzzles, crazy dialogue, and fantastic voice acting.

The thing I liked most about The Book of Unwritten Tales 2  was the likeable, but odd, characters that encompassed the game. You have the princess who speaks her mind, the outgoing professor, the mighty adventurer, and his oddball sidekick. Even if you haven’t played the previous title, you start to feel right at home with your new social circle.

The point-and-click adventure has some old-school mechanics that reminded me of my earlier days of PC gaming. However, the game runs a little less smoothly on iOS, since it repeatedly tries to save your game with every new progression through the story. The controls are also a little less responsive on mobile devices as well giving you less accuracy when it comes to solving puzzles.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2  can get overwhelming at times between the game’s controls and puzzle mechanics, but it still managed to be an overall enjoyable game in the end. If you are a fan of point-and-click adventures and enjoy a good puzzle, then The Book of Unwritten Tales 2  may just be for you!

Features:
  • Multi-faceted adventure gameplay with 4 different characters
  • Beautiful 3D graphics (even on older devices)
  • Over 20 hours of impossible-to-lay-down gameplay
  • Fun special features such as side quests and costumes
  • Full voice-over in English plus subtitles in Spanish, Italian and French

Score: 8 out of 10
