Trulon: The Shadow Engine Review (Xbox One)

The RPG Trulon: The Shadow Engine has made its way to Xbox One.

Trulon: The Shadow Engine takes players through a world of steampunk magic with a very unique card combat system. You must take on enemy forces that have been mutated by magic while you try to explore the mysteries of Tripudia. Gamers will soon find their selves inside an insidious plot where they must discover what is behind the devastating disease that threatens Tripudia.

The story revolves around the country of Trulon which is surrounded by an ocean and mountains. The stories claim that there was once people who created wonderful and terrible machines made up of magic and technology that no one could imagine. The legend states that zeppelins once carried hundreds of travelers at a time to beautiful cities over the lands of Maelon. As you cross the beautiful kingdoms, players will fight in classic turn-based RPG style alongside a unique card combat system.

As the lands of Maelon wither and die, the citizens there grow more desperate by the minute. Trulon: The Shadow Engine is a beautifully animated world full of steampunk and magic and players assume the role of a young monster hunter named Gladia. Players must fight for their homeland in a spin-off story from the original Trulon novel.

Trulon: The Shadow Engine has over six to ten hours of gameplay where you can battle enemies with over 50 unique cards. As you venture through the various environments, gamers will solve puzzles and interact with over a hundred NPCs scattered throughout the game. The animations can be jarring at times and the soundtrack lacks some variety. Alternatively as an RPG title, the storyline is Trulon: The Shadow Engine is very linear with very small areas opening as you progress.

In the end, if you are a fan of RPG games that involves an intense card combat system then you may greatly enjoy the gameplay in Trulon: The Shadow Engine. To learn more, visit the official Trulon: The Shadow Engine website.
