Recon Chat Headset Review (Xbox One)

Turtle Beach will release their new Recon Chat headset on May 15th for $19.95.

The Recon Chat headset is all about low-cost functionality. In today’s headset market, it’s about as barebones as things come - no sizzle, no bells, and whistles, but it offers crisp, clean chat features at a low price. That said, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re in the market for exactly that, just something to stick on your head before you get into a chat-centric game. It’s worth shelling out a few more bucks for something with a few more features, unless you’re mowing through headsets because you keep breaking them or simply looking for the most basic options available at a discount price.

Recon Chat is comfortable. It’s functional. It gets the job done. It’s reasonably priced. If that’s what you’re looking for, you’ve found your match. If you want something more, then consider upping your budget a bit and hunkering down with something more appropriate toward chat-centric play and wear-and-tear. Recon Chat is perfect for the grab-and-go, let’s play a game that has chat features in it user, but ill-suited toward a more hardcore gamer that’s going to be doing a lot of voice.

If you just want to dip your toes into the headset world and you’re not sure what you’re looking for, this is a solid starter set and gets the job done. Once you find your footing, it’s time to consider a higher-grade model that comes with hefty features and killer audio. To learn more, visit the official Turtle Beach website.

Buffet Bliss or Southern Swing-and-a-Miss? A Bite at Kacey’s in Huntsville

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...

Step Back in Time at Ole Towne Café in Ardmore

If you’ve ever wished you could step into your grandma’s kitchen and smell fresh biscuits baking while bacon sizzles in the skillet, Ole Towne Café in Ardmore, Alabama, is the next best thing. Tucked along Main Street, this little diner doesn’t just serve food—it serves nostalgia. Walking in, you’re greeted with that small-town charm you just can’t fake. The walls are lined with country décor, the coffee flows like a friendly neighbor’s gossip, and everyone seems to know everyone else. Even if you’re new in town, you’ll feel like family after your first cup of coffee. The menu is straight out of a Southern comfort cookbook. The catfish plates are fried to crispy perfection, the hamburger steaks come smothered in gravy that tastes like Sunday supper, and the breakfast plates are legendary—big fluffy pancakes, biscuits as big as your hand, and hash browns that come golden and crispy.
