Dreamhack Atlanta 2017 (Event Report)

Dreamhack Atlanta is currently underway at the Georgia World Congress Center.

The world's largest digital festival started on July 21st and ends on July 23rd. If you are looking for one of the largest LAN parties in the world, then Dreamhack is the place to be. Gamers can bring their own gigs to play with their friends non-stop for three days. Outside of e-sports, Dreamhack Atlanta has a ton of other content to offer that includes exhibitors with cool merch, cosplay contests, a fanzone (meet your favorite streamers), informative panels, and even live musical performances on the main stage. One of the special guest performances included Waka Flocka Flame on Friday night which blew everyone away.

Dreamhack Atlanta also has a huge tabletop lineup that includes dozens of games alongside tournaments for Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon TCG and Star Wars Destiny. Attendees have access to an incredible Freeplay area with a PC section that has over 100 PCs and tons of pre-installed games. The console corner is open 24/7 with tournament stations for some of the most popular games including Street Fighter V, Tekken 7 and Super Smash.

One of the biggest draws to Dreamhack Atlanta is the esports scene where teams compete for over $800,000 total in cash prizes across various game categories. The esport tournaments taking place this weekend included: H1Z1 Elite Series, Halo Championship Series, Dream League Season 7, Dreamhack Astro Open, Dreamhack Championship, Hearthstone Grand Prix, Smash Championship, Street Fighter, Injustice 2 and Tekken 7.

In the end, Dreamhack Atlanta was a terrific event that offered a ton of variety for all levels of gamers and nerds. You can see some photos from BioGamer Girl's time at the event here. If you would like to learn more, visit the official Dreamhack Atlanta website.
