Some of the new features include new offensive deke moves such as one-handed moves and heel drags to give players more creative freedom on the ice. Gamers now have full control over their stick to target and disrupt plays thanks to the new Defensive Skill Stick. NHL 18 now has more creative AI on top of authentic 3-on-3 matches in the EA Sports Hockey League.
NHL 18 looks and sounds beautiful while offering up new ways to play the game with features offering fast-paced, arcade-inspired hockey. The game now offers NHL Threes which offers pick-up-and-play games that you can play online or offline with friends. There are different ways to play which includes a single player campaign, an online team with up to 5 players, local team-play with up to 5 gamers, and then online play or local head-to-head matches. The new threes have new broadcast and commentary, Money Puck and can be played by your own rules.
There is a top of new content in NHL 18 which includes a new franchise expansion. Now gamers can play as the Vegas Golden Knights. The Franchise Mode allows players to create and draft a 32nd NHL team with more cities to expand to alongside the ability to create a mascot. There are more ways to play in NHL 18 with local and multiplayer competitive modes. Players now have access to trade requests in Pro alongside HUT challenges adding a great deal of replayability to the game.
