New Mini Tamagotchi Devices Revealed for $14.99

Bandai America announces new mini Tamagotchi devices for $14.99.

Bandai America is kicking off the new year by releasing two flocked mini Tamagotchi devices in limited quantities. Additionally, the company is bringing back the six exclusive colors from the ‘90s U.S. launch -- providing more opportunities for aficionados to get their hands on the coveted device. Fans that missed out on the chance to own the mini Tamagotchi as part of the limited edition 20th Anniversary release will get another shot starting today, as the new colors are available for preorder at retailers nationwide.

The mini Tamagotchi mimics the same play as the devices that launched late last year, but with a twist – the U.S. colors from 1997 are returning as well as baby pink and baby blue flocked versions. This is the first time that fans can get their hands on flocked Tamagotchi devices. The mini Tamagotchi features the familiar egg-shaped, pixelated LCD screen and of course the recurrent need for tender-loving-care that endeared fans in 1997 when the original Tamagotchi was first released!

“Since the 20th anniversary of Tamagotchi, we received an overwhelming demand from fans to bring the devices back.” says Tara Badie, Bandai America Marketing Director. “By releasing the mini Tamagotchi in these cool colors and new textures, we’re able to reach new fans that come to love nurturing play of Tamagotchi, while also giving existing fans what they’ve been clamoring for – more to add to their collection.”

Each collectible figure is sold individually with a suggested retail price $14.99.
