Orbital Racer Review (PC)

Paweł Dywelski and Movie Games S.A. have released Orbital Racer for PC.

The single player game Orbital Racer has officially launched on Steam and brings gamers to space in this action-packed simulation. Players receive all of the freedom in movement that they would find in most 6DOF space simulators with the added adrenaline of racing. You couldn't ask for more? Right?

Orbital Racer features fully customizable controls alongside two distinct game modes which are Action and Simulation. In Action mode, gamers are faced with very fast gameplay where they are threw into their cockpit and must use their tools at hand and speed to beat their enemies. In Simulation mode, players focus more on realistic physics and controlling your aircraft is a little bit more challenging.

Players will make their way across eight unique locations in the Solar System all full of their own charms and challenges. Orbital Racer features an immersive soundtrack, challenging AI, and a fun career mode. However, the game can seem repetitive at times and racing simulators set in space aren't for everyone. However, it was fun to try out the three different ship models and their variants and to participate in action-packed races that were fully customizable. And if you need a little more training, Orbital Racer has a playable flight school in Simulation mode to hone your skills.

In the end, Orbital Racer is a decent space/racing simulator with its unique races and challenging gameplay. If you like racing and space, then you might want to check out Orbital Racer.

Features:

  • Fully customizable controls
  • 8 distinct locations, all based on real places in our Solar System
  • A total of 24 tracks
  • A full, playable flight school for Simulation mode.
  • 3 different ship models, each with additional 3 variants.
  • A challenging yet flexible AI.
  • Customizable races
  • A compelling career mode
