Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition and Season 3 DLC Review (PS4)


Capcom has released Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition alongside Season 3 DLC.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition has made its way to PS4 and PC with a slew of new modes and updates. If you own the original Street Fighter V then all of the content was made available via a free update. No matter if you already own Street Fighter V or our now new players of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, everyone will be put into the same unified player base thanks to cross-platform play.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition includes all of the content available in the original Street Fighter V alongside all of the previous DLC and the newly released Cinematic Story Mode and Versus CPU Mode. For only $39.99, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition gives gamers all of the Season 1 and 2 downloadable characters alongside tons of great new features.

Gamers also will get new Season 3 DLC characters that includes Sakura, Sagat, Cody, and Blanka alongside newcomers, Falke and G. Sakura. The DLC characters available in Street Fighter V are earnable for all players at no charge through various in-game challenges and in-game currency called Fight Money.

In the new Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, there are six new story paths to journey through with recognizable characters in each title. Gamers can make their way up the leaderboards with the ability to take on special challenges throughout the year. New and old characters also have the second V-Trigger option, which opens up a slew of new ways to fight. On top of the redesigned UI and unlockables, gamers also get fun new game modes like Team Battle and Extra Battle. Team Battle is for two local teams with up to five characters with the options of Elimination and Best of Series. In Extra Battle, gamers get to complete special limited-time challenges to gain rewards, costumes, Fight Money, and Experience Points.

In the end, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is a fun new release for new or veteran fans of the series. The new release offers a ton of great content and gamers also have access to new characters thanks to the release of Season 3 DLC.   • Arcade Mode - Journey through six different story paths, each representing a main Street Fighter title: Street Fighter, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter IV, and Street Fighter V. Each path includes characters faithful to the respective title or appropriately representative of the character. There is online leaderboard support and by reaching the end of each path, players will be treated to one of over 200 all-new custom illustrations.
  • Second V-Triggers for all characters - Characters in the game and upcoming roster additions will each receive a second V-Trigger option that opens up different ways to fight, paving the way for new strategies, combos, and options for veteran and new players.
  • Team Battle Mode - A new mode for two local teams of up to five characters battling it out for victory. There are two options: Elimination and Best of Series with various preference settings such as recovering Vitality between matches or allowing the winning player to keep their EX Gauge, and more.
  • Extra Battle Mode - A new mode that allows players to complete special limited-time challenges to obtain various rewards, including Fight Money, Experience Points and unique costumes.
  • Special Challenges - Not to be confused with the current weekly missions which are still present and yield Fight Money, Special Challenges are scattered throughout the year and will offer unique titles for players upon completion.
  • And more - The game will also include an all new Gallery to view the unlockable Arcade Mode illustrations, Sound option (to listen to stage background music, character themes, and more tunes), redesigned UI, and 3D Costume Previews.
