World of Warcraft Getting Battle for Azeroth Expansion on August 14

Blizzard has announced the release date for the upcoming Battle for Azeroth expansion. World of Warcraft gets its latest giant update on August 14, 2018.

New features include randomized island expeditions, quests, dungeons, raids, and allied races. While players lose their artifact weapons as they enter the expansion, there will be new ways to develop characters through the azerite system, a resource that powers items and allows the player to tailor characters to their own particular playstyle. Two huge new zones are the backbone of the expansion, Zandalar for the Horde and Kul Tiras for the Alliance. At the new max level of 120, players will journey between these two continents and find plenty to do in both areas - though the opposing areas are considerably less friendly.

Speaking of friends, Battle for Azeroth features a completely revamped world PVP experience. PVP servers no longer exist, and anyone wishing to participate can flag themselves for war in a capital city. Players flagged for war will only see other flagged players out in the world, and receive bonus rewards in each area due to the added risk. Special activities like supply drops from the sky to fight over provide an incentive to turn your PVP flag on and get out there and mix it up with the enemy.
