Overcrowded and Overpriced: Pensacon - The Worst Convention We Have Ever Been To

Pensacon took place this past weekend, February 18-20, 2022, at the Pensacola Bay Convention Center.

The event was overpriced for attendees being it was so crowded that most individuals couldn't even move within the convention center. It was not safe for attendees in case of a fire, nor was it safe for covid restrictions.

We tried to look around in the vendors and guest areas, which took hours of walking to even get to, it seemed. And there was no room to even move around, look at items, or interact with guests. They had weird one-way entrances and exits that didn't help. The only room we even found a minute to catch a breath and had some room was in the Star Wars area rented out by a cosplay group.

After standing in line in the cold for almost two hours just to get in, you then make it to the guest's section where it seemed most were on break or away from their tables. After almost hour and half of being herded around the event like cattle, we eventually had to leave for our own health and sanity.

In the end, we have traveled to events all over the world, and this has got to be the worst convention we have ever been to. Next year, if you get the urge to pay $45 dollars a day to go to an event like Pensacon just to be tortured for hours and have literally no fun, then remind yourself of how terrible it was in 2022!

We did happen to find Waldo and Carmen Sandiego at the event. It seems they got old and had some kids as they had been trapped in purgatory for decades there.
