Etrange Overlord Marches Into Battle on March 26, 2026

NIS America’s New Musical Action-Adventure Brings Chaos, Comedy, and a Revolving Battlefield to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and PC

NIS America has officially announced that Etrange Overlord, the studio’s upcoming musical action-adventure RPG from Disgaea and Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure creator Sohei Niikawa, will launch March 26, 2026 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 (digital), and PC via Steam. A brand-new release date trailer is now available, offering the first extended look at the game’s irreverent humor, musical flair, and fast-paced combat.

Players can also dive deeper into the game’s development and themes tomorrow: Niikawa will host an AMA on Reddit’s r/JRPG on December 5 at 4:00 PM PT, with fan questions gathered an hour beforehand.

A Hellish Fate… With Sweet Rewards

At the heart of Etrange Overlord is the ill-fated but delightfully stubborn Étrange von Rosenburg, a duke’s daughter who is abruptly executed after being falsely accused of assassinating the king. Her story doesn’t end there, however—Étrange awakens in hell and immediately decides to take it over. What follows is a comedic, chaotic, and sometimes heartfelt journey across the underworld, filled with musical numbers, fast-paced combat, and a cast of oddball allies.

Legendary illustrator Shinichiro Otsuka brings the characters and world to life with expressive, vibrant designs that complement the game’s over-the-top tone.

Frenetic Action, Revolving Lanes, and Multiplayer Mayhem

Etrange Overlord introduces a distinct revolving lane combat system, which sends items, power-ups, hazards, and even your own characters spinning across the battlefield. Players must shoot, slash, and dodge their way through dynamic stages while using the lane mechanic to their advantage.

The game also features a 2–4 player multiplayer mode, letting friends join in the chaos and tackle high-intensity stages together.

Étrange’s insatiable love of sweets plays an important role as well—feeding her favorite treats unlocks powerful temporary buffs and bonuses to push back hell’s fiercest foes.

Walk through the doors of Kacey’s Country Cooking in Huntsville and you’re greeted by the comforting smell of fried chicken, collard greens, and cornbread that could double as perfume for any true Southerner. This is where the buffet line reigns supreme, the sweet tea flows endlessly, and dessert is always just an arm’s reach away. For many locals, Kacey’s is a comfort food paradise. Fans brag about the fried green tomatoes, juicy pork chops, slow-cooked beef tips, and banana pudding that deserves its own holiday. The staff are another highlight—quick with refills, friendly enough to feel like family, and the kind of people who can make a buffet feel like Sunday dinner at grandma’s. But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...

Tucked along Main Street, this little diner doesn’t just serve food—it serves nostalgia. Walking in, you’re greeted with that small-town charm you just can’t fake.
