Lion Forge Entertainment Reveals New Iyanu Season 2 Footage and Movie Preview During Holiday Livestream

New opening title sequence, exclusive clips, and first look at Iyanu: The War of Twin Princes set the stage for an epic 2026 return.

Lion Forge Entertainment closed out the year with a major treat for fans of Iyanu. During the Iyanu Holiday Livestream on December 13, the studio unveiled a brand-new Season 2 opening title sequence, two exclusive clips from the upcoming season, and the first-ever preview of the feature-length movie event, Iyanu: The War of Twin Princes.

Both the second season of the animated series and the movie are slated to premiere in the United States in 2026 on Cartoon Network and HBO Max, with one arriving in the spring and the other in the summer.

A Darker Threat Rises in Yorubaland

Season 2 promises to expand the scope and stakes of Iyanu’s journey as new dangers emerge across Yorubaland. The newly revealed title sequence teases an impending war with the mysterious People of the Deep, led by their formidable queen, Adura. Alongside the ominous visuals, fans get a glimpse of Iyanu’s rapidly growing powers and the strengthening bond of Team Chosen as they prepare for what lies ahead.

One of the standout moments from the livestream was a fresh Season 2 clip featuring Iyanu and Adura’s first on-screen encounter. The scene delivers a compelling mix of tension, personality clashes, and unexpected humor—hinting at a dynamic rivalry that could define the season.

First Look at Iyanu: The War of Twin Princes

The event also marked the debut footage from Iyanu: The War of Twin Princes, a feature-length movie set within the Iyanu universe. The preview introduced Stella Damasus, the award-winning actress making her franchise debut as Oloye, a master warrior who trains young Prince Laja.

Oloye instructs Laja in The Way of the Golden Leaf, a unique Iyanu-verse martial art inspired by Capoeira—blending fluid motion, rhythm, and combat into a visually striking fighting style that adds new depth to the mythology.

A Global Hit Built on African Fantasy

Based on the acclaimed graphic novel Iyanu: Child of Wonder by creator, showrunner, and executive producer Roye Okupe, Iyanu follows a teenage orphan who discovers she possesses divine powers tied to ancient legends—and a destiny to restore balance to her world.

Produced by Lion Forge Entertainment, one of the few Black-owned animation studios of scale in North America, Iyanu has become a global success:

  • Top 10 Kids & Family title on HBO Max
  • #1 Kids (6–12) series on Cartoon Network during its debut month
  • #1 Kids & Family title on Showmax across 44 African countries
  • Streaming internationally on ITVX (UK), ABC iview (Australia), and STARZPLAY’s Ejunior Kids TV across the UAE and MENA region

What’s Next for Iyanu

Season 2 will consist of ten new episodes, alongside the movie event, continuing Iyanu’s evolution as ancient powers awaken, alliances fracture, and long-buried truths tied to the Age of Wonders come to light. As chaos spreads, the conflict becomes deeply personal—testing Iyanu not just as a hero, but as a symbol of hope.

Fans can revisit Season 1 and the season-finale movie special Iyanu: The Age of Wonders, now streaming on HBO Max in the U.S. Official merchandise is also available via the Iyanu Shop.

With its bold mythology, rich cultural inspiration, and growing global audience, Iyanu is shaping up to make 2026 a landmark year for the franchise—and this latest reveal makes the wait feel more intense than ever.

But Kacey’s has its critics too. Some diners rave about “the best bang for your buck in town,” while others complain that the food sometimes veers into “straight-from-the-can” territory. Like most buffets, it’s a roll of the dice: hit the line on a good day and you’ll be full and happy; catch it on an...
