HELLCARD II Announced – Cards, Chaos, and Dragons Return in 2026

Skystone Games and Thing Trunk have officially revealed , the next chapter in their beloved co-op deckbuilding roguelite—and it’s going bigger, bolder, and more story-driven than ever.

Slated for release later in 2026, HELLCARD II expands the original’s tactical card combat into a full pen-and-paper–inspired pop-up book adventure. Instead of simply clearing dungeon rooms, players will journey through the pages of a living story, making group decisions that ripple across future runs. Yes—dragons are involved, and no two tales will unfold the same way.

The sequel introduces four-player co-op, deeper RPG systems, and a richer version of Thing Trunk’s signature papercraft “Return 2 Games” aesthetic. Whether you’re coordinating devastating deck synergies with friends or commanding the entire party solo, HELLCARD II promises tactical chaos wrapped in tabletop charm.

“It’s the book of adventures we always wanted to make,” says Thing Trunk’s Konstanty Kalicki, highlighting the game’s focus on emergent storytelling, character customization, and shared decision-making.

Why to Watch It

  • Four-player co-op deckbuilding mayhem
  • Storybook runs that evolve across playthroughs
  • Tactical positioning that rewards smart teamwork
  • A handcrafted paper fantasy world brought to life

HELLCARD II is currently in development for PC and console. You can watch the reveal trailer and wishlist the game now on Steam.
