Runaway: A Twist of Fate (Video Game Review)

Runaway: A Twist of Fate is the newest release for publishers BulkyPix and Focus Home Interactive and developer Pendulo Studios and the final release in the Runaway video game trilogy. The series is a point and click adventure that follows the tales of its two protagonists Brian Basco and Gina Timmins, only this time around, Gina is a playable character and the most prominent in the new release. While this doesn't dramatically change the gameplay, it does offer fans of the series a refreshing point of view change for the narrative while still offering the same humor fans have come to expect for the series. The result is a game that is charming and addictive but not flashy enough to draw in a new audience. The storyline of Runaway: A Twist of Fate is one of the key aspects of the game, and luckily for fans, Pendulo Studios has once again nailed the compelling and humorous tale that will end the series. The game opens with a segment explaining that Brian has been convicted of...

Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel (Video Game Review)

Shooters this late in the next generation of consoles tend to deliver high quality presentations but suffer from the redundancy of the series' releases that have came before it or that try and imitate the most popular shooter franchises around. This can be good for gamers, as it allows us to easily pick up a new release and instantly become familiarized with the controls and other intricacies of the game, but it also makes many games a bore to play at times. Developer Visceral Games and publisher EA have managed to stay away from the imitation trend and opt for a different type of shooter with their Army of Two franchise, and the newest release continues to offer unique gameplay mechanics and a much more polished presentation for the series now built on the powerful Frostbite 2 engine. Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel provides fans with another great game to play and other gamers a fun experience that will give the best reason yet to give the often overlooked franchise a try...

Resident Evil 6 (Video Game Review)

Capcom is easily one of the most prominent video game developers and publishers in the world, and one of its most important series of all-time is arguably the Resident Evil franchise. The first release revolutionized the survival horror genre when it was released on the original PlayStation back in 1996, and the series has continued to grow and evolve over the years to become one of the most loved and recognizable franchises in gaming. When Capcom announced Resident Evil 6 early last year, fans couldn't wait to get their hands on the game, and the most diehard fans of the series in Japan were even willing to drop over $1,500 to preorder a special edition version of the game that included a replica of protagonist Leon S. Kennedy's leather jacket from the game; now, that's dedication! PC gamers would have to wait several months later to get their hands on the release unfortunately and listen to the mixed reactions of console gamers and reviewers while anxiously biding the...

Gears of War: Judgment (Video Game Review)

The third-person shooter Gears of War: Judgment has just released for the Xbox 360 and is of the same caliber as all the releases we have seen before. Everyone and their mom knows what to expect from the Gears of War franchise and that is what we get once again. Now that most every game released is like a copy of the original games then it is time to do something a little different. Gears of War: Judgment is unimpressive to say the least. Gears of War: Judgment is a prequel that takes you back to the events following Emergence Day and the trial of Kilo Squad.  We have our characters Damon Baird and Augustus Cole who are being accused of treason following the battle in Halvo Bay against the Locusts. Players have the ability to play as all of the main characters with new weapons and equipment. The first downfall of Gears of War: Judgment is the new scoring system which places too many restrictions on the player to the point of wanting to pull out your hair. The game's mis...
