Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops Coming to Smartphones

Developer and publisher Konami didn't hold anything back at the company's 25th Anniversary event this week. In addition to the announcement of a new open world title called Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and an upcoming Metal Gear feature film, Konami also announced a new title for smartphones entitled Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops . Aliens: Colonial Marines Announces Escape Mode

A new multi-player mode has been announced for Aliens: Colonial Marines entitled Escape Mode. The game will pit a four-person team of US Colonial Marines against the deadly Xenomorphs. An exhilarating experience for fans of the ALIENS universe, Escape mode puts the four-person US Colonial Marines team on the offensive against a four-player Xenomorph team. Borderlands 2 Offering Up Additional Campaigns With Season Pass

Borderlands 2 will offer up gamers a chance to get four additional campaigns at a discounted price with new Season Pass. The game will also offer a chance to pre-order the title and join the Premiere Club for even more rewards. 2K Games and Gearbox Software announced today that Borderlands 2 will offer four brand new add-on content campaigns following the release of Borderlands 2 for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC. Developer Supergiant Games has released a new edition of their award winning downloadable title Bastion for iOS today. Rock Band Blitz (Video Game Review)

Does anybody really play music games anymore? Apparently developer Harmonix hasn't given up on the genre yet, and so now we've be given Rock Band Blitz, whether we want it or not. Rock Band Blitz does away with the classic Rock Band style of play and allows you to play with your Xbox 360 controller rather than your plastic instruments. Also rather than playing a song in a group of your friends to form the ultimate band, you're left to play solo with no competitive modes to be seen either. Rock Band Blitz does allow you to play any instrument in the band, and in fact, switching between the instruments mid-song is the key to achieving the highest scores in the game, but unfortunately, Rock Band Blitz is a title that quickly runs its course and reminds you why nobody plays these types of games anymore. Nintendo Wii U to Unveil New Details at Special Event Next Month

Nintendo has announced a Nintendo Wii U preview event that will occur on Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 10: 00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EDT. Leaked details from the event confirm a November 18, 2012 release date for PDP accessories for the even and a more accurate time table of when we can expect the system to launch. Of course, the PDP accessories release do not necessarily coincide with the systems launch, as accessories for systems have been known to launch both before and after the release numerous times before, but we can assume the above date as good as any for another two and a half weeks until the official Nintendo Wii U preview event.
