Rise of the Triad (Video Game Review)

Rise of the Triad reimagines the classic game of the same name with all new graphics and some new features for the aged title. While the game may still be enjoyable for fans of the original game, they will likely be the only gamers to enjoy a title that is full of nostalgia and little else. The game boasts enhanced graphics, only the game still looks bad when compared with any nearly game from the current generation. The game was a great title 20 years ago, but few things have changed in the remake, so there are plenty of glitches and bugs, a poor excuse for AI, a grueling and unenjoyable difficulty and numerous other problems with the game. There is some fast paced shooting and some neat special abilities that shine in multiplayer, but there are plenty of other enjoyable games on the market that offer similar, but more entertaining, old school experiences. Rise of the Triad allows players to play as one of several operatives from the special task force known as H.U.N.T. (High Ri...

Killer is Dead (Video Game Review)

Killer is Dead is the newest work from the Suda 51 company that has brought the world some of the most unique and entertaining action titles ever including No More Heroes , Killer7 , and most recently, Lollipop Chainsaw . Where these titles offered up fun experiences that relied on great combat and a polished storyline, Killer is Dead offers a game that is marred by a poor presentation and several gross design choices. Killer is Dead offers some fun, if repetitive, combat scenarios and some nice art design that will encourage some players to pick up the new title, but gamers looking for an action fix would be better served picking up one of the studio's better releases or other hack and slash gems such as DmC: Devil May Cry or Bayonetta . Killer is Dead 's problems begin with the game's storyline that plays out like too many ideas rolled into a single storyline and characters that are so bizarre and unbelievable that it's near impossible to feel any sort of emot...

How did you originally come up with the idea for the film and then find the team that would tell their story in Monsters Wanted ? BRIAN CUNNINGHAM: We came across the idea completely by accident. I had just started dating Kaley Roberts (who co-produced the movie), and she told me she was going to stage manage a haunted house "because she was bored." She asked if I wanted to some meet Rich, one of the owners. We went to a Denny's at 10pm and Rich was sitting at a booth downing cup after cup of coffee and typing furiously on his laptop. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (Video Game Review)

Growing up, I spent countless hours watching the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) cartoons and playing the games on Nintendo. It was one of the few games that my brother and I could play that helped us stop fighting for two seconds and enjoy some time together. I was always fond of playing Leonardo while my brother relentlessly stepped into the orange bandana of Michelangelo. The characters you choose in a video game can often depict a part of your own personality, and I was always the leader rather in a group of friends or at home among my siblings. And well...Michelangelo pretty much wrapped up a lot of what my brother was with his happy-go-lucky attitude and corny jokes. Rather we were dressing up as the legendary turtles on Halloween or enjoying hours of arcade fun--the TMNT have been a happy and memorable part of my life. Now over 20 som...
