Resident Evil: Revelations 2 (Video Game Review)

Capcom has released the new episodic series Resident Evil: Revelations 2 box set that allows players to finally join a friend in an amazing co-op adventure to play all four episodes. The best thing about the new release is that you don't have to play the 2012 Resident Evil Revelations to enjoy the new release because it is a self-contained story all on its own. Read on to learn more. Resident Evil: Revelations 2 starts out much like a Saw movie. Claire Redfield and Moira Burton (daughter of Barry Burton) are originally at the office only to be kidnapped and awake in a strange place. If that wasn't enough, the island that they are trapped on is infested with mutated zombies with a weird tracking bracelet attached to their arms. They only get bits and pieces of information from a creepy, mysterious woman via the bracelets but it is enough to know that their nightmare has just started. Revelations 2 is comprised of four episodes that each have their own unique challenges...

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD (Video Game Review)

Developer and publisher Square Enix has revived a classic PSP title previously unavailable in North America with the new remake Final Fantasy Type-0 HD . The game makes changes to the original PSP title including new high definition graphics and some other tweaks from its predecessor. The game shows its age in a few regards, but impressive combat and a compelling storyline make this action RPG well worth picking up for fans of the series. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD isn't the typical Square Enix RPG, but the dark, gritty storyline feels right at home in the Final Fantasy universe, and the innovative release could represent changes coming to the future of one of the video game's most beloved franchises. From the game's opening cutscene, it's clear that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is unlike any other Final Fantasy game Square Enix has ever released. The narrative focuses on a group of young cadets known as Class Zero that battle against an invading Milites force. While this...

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars (Video Game Review)

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars is the sixth release in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series. The new release sees the return of the cute little toy representations of some of the Mushroom Kingdom's biggest stars with all new levels and features. Gameplay hasn't changed much for the newest release in the series, but the introduction of a Workshop for creating and sharing custom levels and an unlock system that gives plenty of new items for finding stars hidden throughout stages make Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars worth checking out for fans of the series and newcomers alike. Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars doesn't rely on much of a narrative to hook players. Mario has been cursed and transformed into a wind-up toy version of his former self, and players must use a stylus to guide the character and his friends through levels without allowing them to fall in a pit of spikes or find other ways to die. The new release includes 6 worlds and over 80 levels tha...

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. (Video Game Review)

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. is a new third-person shooter and strategy game that features a unique plot based around historical figures battling aliens in a steampunk and H.P. Lovecraft inspired world. The game has some unique ideas from its strange cast of characters to gameplay that combines elements from different genres, but bland enemy design and other issues keep the game from being as exciting as it could have been. Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. follows a cast of characters that include Henry Fleming, John Henry and The Cowardly Lion that team up with Abraham Lincoln to fight back against an alien invasion. The game's setting takes players to a futuristic Earth across different locations where new characters are met and made available as playable characters. The game's protagonists are interesting and are one of the biggest reasons for players to check out the new release, and the narrative is good enough to keep players interested in finding out what will happen next. Game...

Battlefield Hardline (Video Game Review)

Battlefield Hardline is Electronic Art's lucky thirteenth release for the Battlefield franchise. The newest release takes the first-person shooter from massive wars between countries to the battlefields of cops and crooks back home. Battlefield Hardline makes some innovations for the franchise, and many of the new ideas breathe fresh life into a game series that seemed to be heading for a trend of repetition. A fun single player campaign, new multiplayer modes, and quite frankly, online that isn't broken make Battlefield Hardline worth checking out for all fans of the first-person shooter genre. The new single player campaign included in Battlefield Hardline centers around a group of cops that find themselves involved in a major drug bust. The narrative featured in the game isn't completely original, as most gamers will be able to predict part of the storyline after watching any action cop film from the last two decades, but the campaign features some interesting c...
