AMANDA DYAR: Marilyn, thanks for chatting. How long of a journey has this been for you? MARILYN ANDERSON: It’s been a lonnnnnng journey! It depends where you want me to begin. For this particular script, it’s been over a 20-year journey. We first wrote it after “Home Alone” came out in 1990. Our screenplay was optioned by various Hollywood producers, year after year. After writing it, we had so much interest and a ton of meetings all over town that our agent thought there was going to be a bidding war with a quick sale. Unfortunately, several other family films came out after “Home Alone” that ended up being flops. So all of a sudden, the studios no longer wanted to do...

AMANDA: Were there a lot of rejections along the way? LORYNN: Yes. That will never stop. I always have to tell myself that even Oscar winners still get rejected for projects they really want. AMANDA: Is there one role you really wanted in particular that you didn’t get? LORYNN: I auditioned for The Gambler and got pretty far in the casting process. It was an amazing script and I'd work alongside Mark Wahlberg. I would have done the movie for f...

BGG: With your work on A.N.T Farm , and now Lazer Team , you’ve become an impressionable role model for young girls. Do you sense that? ALLIE DEBERRY: I have been told that by young girls many times, and it makes me feel so honored! It gives me a certain responsibility, but I don’t mind it. I hope that girls can admire what I’m doing, but also be themselves and find their own individualities. BGG: Knowing that you’ve got such young fans, does that dictate your choices? ALLIE: I have turned down several roles because I did not feel comfortable with the material and did not want my fans to accept what I was doing in the script as an ok behavior.
